David Portillo, Esq.
Attorney
David C. Portillo is an attorney at Kahana Feld’s Irvine office. Mr. Portillo earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California, where he won multiple moot court competitions and served on the editorial board of the administrative law journal. During law school, he volunteered at Public Law Center, representing asylum seekers, and interned with the Honorable Patricia Donahue at the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to law school, Mr. Portillo earned his bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Since being admitted to the California State Bar, Mr. Portillo has obtained experience defending businesses and individuals in various litigation matters involving employment matters, landlord-tenant disputes, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, and contract disputes, among others. Whether by arguing for dispositive motions before the courts, going toe to toe with plaintiffs’ attorneys in depositions, or obtaining early settlement, David is always focused on obtaining the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Prior to joining Kahana Feld, Mr. Portillo practiced on a general litigation team for a nation-wide law-firm.
Outside of work, David loves playing his guitar, reading widely, and traveling with his wife and daughter.
