Jeff Miragliotta is Kahana Feld’s Firmwide Co-Managing Partner and directly oversees the firm’s Northeast offices. Jeff has dedicated over two decades representing carrier, private, and municipal clients, is an industry leader in shaping, updating, and applying best practices, and has encountered and defended against nearly every conceivable case and fact pattern. This includes premises liability, labor law, trucking/commercial vehicle accidents, construction defect, and product liability. The consummate gentleman, Jeff is also hardcore NYC through-and-through and embraces a non-nonsense approach – born of his Fordham Rugby career (Jeff was a three-year captain, won back to back Met NY Titles, was the winningest captain in Fordham Rugby history, and went onto restart the storied Old Maroon Rugby team) – that allows him to evaluate claims quickly and accurately to determine their value and the appropriate defense strategy to pursue to best resolve them efficiently and cost effectively.

Jeff is experienced in all facets of litigation and handles the entire process: from inception through resolution, whether that involves discovery, motion practice, settlement, mediation, arbitration, trial, or appeal. More recently, and hand-in-glove with the KF appellate group, Jeff and his immensely-talented litigation group and team of trial attorneys have also been at the forefront of efforts to defend against the widespread lawsuit fraud in the NY metro region, and its disturbing and inevitable correlation with undisclosed and unregulated consumer litigation funding (including medical expense bloating, phantom treatment and expenses, medical lien factoring, and medical funding). Underlying all of Jeff’s and his group’s efforts, however, are their leadership roles: in (1) encouraging the defense industry to change its obsolete cabined-off ways, and to collaborate in the same incredibly effective manner as the highly-organized plaintiff lawyer industry; and (2) identifying methods in our industry and court system to increase efficiency, fairness, justice, and equity for all litigants.
