Partner
Daniel R. Erwin is a partner in Kahana Feld’s Houston office and practices primarily in the firm’s General Liability, Trucking and Transportation, and Construction Law practice groups. He has extensive experience litigating high-exposure cases before state and federal courts throughout Texas. He represents clients in matters including personal injury, premises liability, security deficiencies, workplace shootings, dram shop, industrial accidents, construction accidents, construction defect, and product liability. Daniel has a particular emphasis on complex cases involving high-exposure, catastrophic personal injury litigation.
Daniel also has significant experience providing “parachute” defense services, substituting into and assuming the defense of cases on the eve of trial.
Daniel spends his free time traveling with his family, watching his kids play baseball and football, and watching the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Astros.
Representative Experience- Represented a national company in a coming-and-going-rule case that was affirmed at the Supreme Court of Texas after securing a complete summary judgment in the District Court.
- Represented a national hotel brand defending Trafficking Victims Protection Act matters.
- Represented a national logistics company after joining the trial team one month before trial in a charter-bus accident matter involving multiple plaintiffs. Secured a favorable defense verdict totaling three percent of the plaintiffs’ jury demand.
- Represented a national logistics company as part of the trial team that assumed defense of a matter in Arkansas two weeks before trial. Secured a favorable settlement after the plaintiff sought new negotiations after three days of trial.
- Represented a national logistics company on the trial team in a high-exposure TBI case in Arkansas after assuming the defense one month before trial. Secured a favorable settlement following pre-trial hearings.
