IRVINE, CA – Oct. 20, 2025 – Kahana Feld is proud to announce that Samuel Yu, managing partner of the firm’s Irvine office, has been appointed president of the newly formed National Korean American Bar Association (NKABA).

Founded in April 2025, National KABA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting and connecting the Korean American legal community while also providing a resource for professionals and law students in regions without a local Korean American Bar Association (KABA). National KABA endeavors to serve as a facilitator for collaboration among regional KABAs, enable resource sharing, and create opportunities for joint initiatives.

Yu’s appointment to president of NAKABA reflects his leadership as an attorney and his longstanding commitment to community service. As president of National KABA, he will oversee initiatives aimed at creating platforms for Korean American attorneys and law students to thrive.

“I am deeply honored to serve as the inaugural president of National KABA and to be part of this exciting new chapter in advancing and uplifting the Korean American legal community,” said Yu. “I look forward to collaborating with our talented and accomplished board of directors – comprising current and former presidents of regional Korean American bar associations – to strengthen connections and expand opportunities for Korean Americans in leadership roles throughout our profession. I am also profoundly grateful to Kahana Feld for its steadfast support of this meaningful endeavor, and I cannot thank our founders, Amir Kahana and Jason Feld, enough for their unwavering encouragement and belief in this mission.”

Yu serves as managing partner of Kahana Feld’s Irvine office and is chair of the firm’s General Business Litigation practice group and a member of the Korea practice group. He has extensive experience in shareholder disputes, employment litigation, real estate disputes, and trade secret litigation. He is the former president of the Orange County Korean American Bar Association (OCKABA), and he currently serves on the board of the OCKABA Foundation as well as the California Asian American Pacific Bar Association (Cal-APABA).
