Christopher Theobalt, Esq.

Partner

Christopher Theobalt is a Partner at Kahana Feld's New York office. Mr. Theobalt utilizes his appellate experience in all stages of the litigation process. He routinely attends and monitors New York state and federal court trials and frequently handles post-trial motions and appeals in these cases.

Mr. Theobalt has dedicated his entire career to appellate and litigation strategy.  He has spent countless hours monitoring New York’s highest-stakes trials and briefing and arguing New York’s largest appeals.  He’s written or co-written motions and appeals that have saved clients hundreds of millions of dollars, including scoring a $50 million reduction in a single case involving a traumatic brain injury.  He’s known for his unflappable calm and sense of humor in the face of high pressure situations. In a separate brain-injury case, Mr. Theobalt drafted a motion in limine to preclude a still-employed and high-earning plaintiff’s substantial claim for future lost earnings based on what she could have earned had she not been injured. He successfully prevented what would have been an entirely new theory of damages in New York. The case settled for a fraction of the plaintiff’s initial demand.

Though his practice requires a command of the often-tangled web of appellate jurisprudence, Mr. Theobalt is adept at distilling these technical legal issues into understandable legal counsel – whether it be in the form of a written evaluation or a telephone call. He is readily available for his clients, especially when they urgently require his counsel, such as during a trial or mediation. He makes it a priority to keep clients apprised of any developments in their cases and does so in an affable but professional manner.

He also plays a mean guitar.
