Melvin Wright is based in the firm’s Houston office and is a member of the General Liability, NY Labor Law and Trucking & Transportation practice groups. Wright is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing corporate and individual clients in complex civil, criminal, and regulatory matters. He has tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict and draws on extensive courtroom experience to provide strategic, effective representation.

Wright brings extensive experience in complex trial litigation, government investigations, and business crime prosecutions. His background in jury trials, public-sector leadership, and senior government enforcement roles provides valuable insight into the evaluation and litigation of a wide array of matters, strengthening the firm’s ability to advise clients facing significant civil, criminal, and regulatory exposure.

Wright previously served as lead in-house counsel at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, overseeing high-level litigation, and as a supervisory attorney with the New Jersey Office of State Comptroller/Medicaid Fraud Division. He also served as a Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and practiced as a litigation partner at Am Law 100 firms, representing Fortune 500 companies and senior executives.
