Serena Mott, Esq.
Attorney
Serena Mott is an attorney in Kahana Feld’s New York office and a member of the National Appellate Litigation & Consulting Group. Serena brings a strong appellate background and a deep understanding of judicial decision-making to her practice. She began her legal career clerking for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department, where she analyzed complex legal issues, evaluated appeals from the court’s perspective, and recommended dispositions for the Justices of the Third Department.
She went on to serve as a Senior Appellate Court Attorney for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. In that role, Serena reviewed appellate motion submissions, drafted motion orders, and advised the Justices of the Second Department on procedural and substantive issues—further refining her insight into the inner workings of one of the busiest appellate courts in the nation.
Earlier in her career, Serena served as a staff attorney at the Community Service Society of New York, where she represented individuals in healthcare-related administrative appeals and negotiated medical debt settlements with service providers.
While in law school, she interned with the Honorable Julio M. Fuentes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, gaining valuable experience in federal appellate litigation.
Serena’s experience on both sides of the bench gives her a strategic advantage in appellate advocacy and motion practice. She brings sharp analytical skills, clarity of argument, and practical insight to every matter she handles.
