Sebastian Kaplan, Esq.
Partner
Sebastian Kaplan brings nearly two decades of litigation experience to Kahana Feld’s National Appellate Litigation & Consulting Group. A former federal appellate clerk and seasoned trial attorney, Sebastian focuses his practice on complex commercial, intellectual property, and public law disputes—particularly those raising high-stakes appellate issues.
Sebastian has secured successful outcomes for clients in both state and federal courts, including reversals on appeal and dispositive trial court rulings. He has first-chaired and second-chaired trials and arbitrations, handled briefing across all stages of litigation, and advised clients through strategic appellate positioning from the earliest phases of a case. His appellate experience spans a range of subject areas, from business torts and fraud claims to trade secrets and public infrastructure disputes.
Before joining Kahana Feld, Sebastian practiced with two nationally recognized firms, where he represented leading technology companies, public entities, and global consumer brands. He also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Carlos T. Bea on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
