Frederick H. Wen, Esq.
Senior Attorney
Frederick (“Fred”) H. Wen is a Senior Attorney in the Houston Office of Kahana Feld. Mr. Wen is passionate about defending and helping clients navigate the legal system. He strives to explain complex legal concepts in simpler terms to ensure clients and carriers feel confident and informed every step of the way. Mr. Wen is an experienced trial litigator with over 19 years of civil litigation experience having first and second-chaired several jury and bench trials at both the federal and state court levels in Texas and New York. He is also an accomplished appellate attorney, having successfully argued several oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and successfully drafted several briefs in both federal and state appellate courts in New York and Texas.
Before joining Kahana Feld, Mr. Wen worked at midsize and boutique insurance defense firms and an Am Law 100 firm in Houston, Texas. He gained invaluable experience practicing appellate and trial-level commercial litigation, professional liability/realtor defense, commercial trucking and auto personal injury defense, construction defect defense, and bankruptcy law, as well as providing insurance coverage litigation defense and opinions. In addition, Mr. Wen previously worked for over fourteen years in the public sector, including over five years as a Central Staff Attorney at the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas, and nearly nine years at the New York State Office of the Attorney General in both the Law Enforcement Section of the Litigation Bureau and the Federal Habeas Corpus Section of the Appeals & Opinions Division.
Mr. Wen is conversationally fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin, and was raised in Houston, Texas. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and schnoodle, trying out new restaurants or cheering on his Houston Astros, Rockets, and Texans, as well as playing or watching tennis.
